Our Story
FNWC is a collaborative initiative that was initially set up by Avaivilla Group, together with three First Nations women with the shared vision of creating Cultural spaces that offered global First Nations female wisdom holders opportunities to share, network and truth tell. The FNWC will host its inaugural ‘First Nations Knowledge Streams’ gathering in Narrm (Melbourne) this coming October. This is a gathering of First Nations female knowledge keepers from different nations across the ocean, connected by our shared resilience, activism and community stories of survival in a changing world.
What began as a passion project has evolved into something more. We’re proud of where we’ve been and even more excited for what’s ahead.
While FNWC works toward building its website, Avaivilla Group will provide its platform to host FNWC. All donations in support of FNWC will go directly to the organisation.
The Knowledge Streams Forum 2026
The FNWC is organizing a gathering of First Nations wisdom holders from around the globe. The purpose of this event is to share cultural knowledge, practices, and wisdom within a culturally safe environment. It aims to provide a platform for First Nations female activists and leaders to address issues affecting their communities and discuss the impacts of current polycrisis events on global First Nations peoples, their environments, and food security.
This October, the FNWC will host its inaugural ‘First Nations Knowledge Streams’ Forum in Narrm (Melbourne). This gathering will bring together First Nations female knowledge keepers from various nations across the ocean, linked by our shared resilience, activism, and community stories of survival in a changing world.
The theme of the forum, ‘First Nations Women, Community Activism and Resilience,’ will highlight the numerous stories of community building and leadership by First Nations women worldwide. It serves as a valuable opportunity for First Nations women to network, exchange cultural knowledge, and foster sustainable cross-cultural relationships on a global scale.
Can you help out?
As much as we would love to provide free forum tickets to community women, we do have costs to cover in running a two day forum. We are calling on our friends, allies, networks, organisations, government agencies and the philanthropic community to help us out with a purchase of a ticket to PAY IT FORWARD for a community women to attend the Knowledge Streams Forum on the 28-29th October. Your support means First Nations women can gather to share and learn knowledge with our international First Nations sisters. CAN YOU HELP?
